Atelier
In the Atelier of Bubuque Vopasha, each product undergoes its unique production journey, with a distinct code embedded in the leather to ensure authenticity. We are committed to sharing the story behind every product you purchase, a process that involves 9 to 24 hours of dedicated craftsmanship
Measurements and Design
Each product begins its journey with a design, often without any initial drawings.
We craft the first sketch directly from production-grade leather because we
believe in capturing the essence of the material. By starting without
paperwork, we keep the process authentic and ‘real.’ Once the initial concept
takes shape, the design is transferred to paper, ensuring precision and
sustainability for the subsequent stages.
Hand Selection of Leathers
We carefully select each leather individually for every product. Each item
requires a unique material, varying in stiffness, durability, and thickness,
depending on its intended use. We handpick our leathers directly at our
manufacturers’ production centers, ensuring that every piece meets our high
standards and remains free of imperfections.
Cutting and Stamping
Each piece of leather is measured and cut by hand. Before cutting, the leather is
stamped with our specialized machinery using unique colors sourced from around
the world and brought together in our atelier. Each material undergoes rigorous
testing to ensure optimal performance, preserving the consistency and longevity
of our logo’s color
Perfecting Every Pocket and Leather Component
Each pocket is carefully edge-painted and lined before being assembled for the next
stage:
Hand Sewing
Every product crafted in our Atelier is hand-sewn, unless otherwise specified. We
believe in the essence of true craftsmanship and proudly elevate it to new
heights. Each component is meticulously perforated to prepare for the
hand-sewing process. They are sewn with top-of-the-line linen threads, typically
using our signature Bordeaux linen, though special colors may also be used.
Mid-Production Quality Control
Before applying our four-step edge painting process, each product undergoes
mid-production quality control to ensure that every component functions
correctly.
The Four-Step Edge Painting. Like an Art
Each leather edge undergoes a four-step painting process. The first two steps
involve undercoating, while the final two steps apply the topcoat that you
interact with daily. After addressing any imperfections and ensuring the
leather edges are securely bonded, we meticulously apply our signature deep
black edge paint twice. This process ensures the edges remain stunningly
beautiful for a lifetime.
Final Quality Control
At the end of production, each product undergoes a thorough final quality control
to ensure that every detail is correctly executed. Please note that you might
observe minor differences from the photos or unique variations in some details.
This is due to our commitment to handcrafting each product at every stage.
While this meticulous approach may result in occasional differences, it adds
the genuine character of our Atelier to your product.
A Note For You
From the moment we cut the first piece of leather, our goal has always been to help you preserve memories. Although capturing memories may seem impossible, it is the most authentic pursuit possible. With each use, our products develop a rich patina over time, reflecting the experiences and memories they accompany. Carry your product with the care of something you might lose tomorrow, and appreciate the craftsmanship that went into creating it. Over the years, it may even help you recall memories you thought were forgotten. With love, forever.
